Here’s my Travelling Slideshow on Jianguo Hotel :
I’m now at Jianguo Hotel Lobby meeting our Xi’an Chinese Tour Guide & tour mates to go for the Great Tang Dynasty Music & Dance Show in town!
HEY look at these majestic Terra Cotta Warriors here!! I’m so excited & happy - I must come back here after my Show to look for Souvenir Magnets heheh!!
We’re now on our way to the Tang Dynasty Music & Show Theatre…………
Arriving now at the Shaanxi Sunshine Beauty City Grand Theatre located at Huancheng South Road in Xi’an :
The Tang Dynasty (618-907) was the most prosperous & glorious of all Imperial Capitals during the 13 Dynastic periods here in Ancient Chang’an (now called Xi’an).
As an Art form, Chinese Folk dances were first performed by the Chinese as part of Prayer Rituals for Good Harvest or Better Life! Over thousands of years, these Dances reached a peak during the Tang Dynasty, which was open to outside influences, & took in the best of various Art forms of the past Dynasties, & the Ethnic groups in Northwestern China, as well as from Central & Western Asia - thus forming the GREAT Tang Dynasty Music & Show!
In 1981, the Xi’an Shaanxi Provincial Song & Dance Troupe, inspired by the thriving Tourist Industry, conceived a series of Programs to illustrate on Stage the History, Culture & Artistic Heritage of Xi’an – in the Tang Dynasty Music & Dance Show.
The Artists spent much time reading the relevant Books, Historical Records & Monographs on the Entertainments enjoyed by the Royal Court, & they also learned traditional Arts from Folk Artists & visited many Historical Sites with many ancient Frescoes, Carvings & Sculptures…………..
A year later in 1982, the Tang Dynasty Music & Dance Show proved to be a great success & was highly praised by a UNESCO delegation.
Today, the Show still manages to keep alive the Tang Dynasty’s splendid Culture & provides an insight into the peaceful life style of the period. And todate, the Show’s production crews have toured many Cities in China, as well as performing in Countries such as Japan, Russia, Korea, Singapore, Norway & Denmark.
Let us now watch the GREAT Tang Dynasty Music & Dance Show – set in a Tang Dynasty Imperial Court Stage & performed by Chinese Artists dressed in elegant refined beautiful Costumes from the Tang Era………..
The Show kicks of with a collection of ancient Folk Dances & Entertainments that the Tang Dynasty Emperor & Emperess would have enjoyed………..
Now watching the Rainbow Costume Dance created by Lady Yang Guifei in trying to recreate a Dream that the Tang Emperor Xuanzong had about Celestial women from the Palace of the Moon…………
Now, the following’s the most famous performance in tonight’s Tang Dynasty Music & Show here at Shaanxi Sunshine Beauty City Grand Theatre – Send the Buddhism Light to the Door – Qian Shou Kuan Yin (meaning “Thousand Hands Goddess of Mercy) :
We’ve now come to the end of the Tang Dynasty Music & Show where all the Performers come on stage to dance one last time for us before taking their bows……………
STUNNING performances combined with colorful lights & mystical Ancient music, songs & Poems depicting Tang’s splendid History, brilliant Arts, distinct Traditions & Customs – the Tang Dynasty Music & Dance Show really swept me off my feet as I enjoyed tremendously my very 1st night performance here at Xian, China!
My 200 RMB Ticket for this Show is definitely worth it!! Now, I’m sure for those tour mates of mine who chose to opt out on this Show (after our Jiaozi – Dumpling - Banquet Dinner cos they think it’s too costly!!) would be disappointed for sure once they find out how great this Show is!!!
YEA Yea I absolutely think it’s a MUST-SEE Show for any new visitor arriving at this most Ancient Capital City of X’an here in China!!
Back at Jianguo Hotel after the Tang Dynasty Music & Dance Show, I went straight into shopping at the Souvenirs Shop located at the Hotel Lobby, & I was really amazed at its Souvenir Magnets – though there were only limited 1 or 2 pieces to each design!!
Well, here’re my Bing Ma Yong – Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses Souvenir Magnets!! YES YES!! Couldn’t believe I found them so soon & so easily on my 1st Night here on the Silk Road!!! Ahahhaah I’m one happiest & luckiest woman right now!!
