Visiting Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Ta) & Mercy & Kindness Temple (Da Ci-en) in Xi’an, China - Day 2

Good morning to you all as I dine at Jianguo Hotel on my 2nd Day of Mysterious Silk Road Tour here in Xi’an, Shaanxi - China :

I’m now leaving Jianguo Hotel for my very 1st sightseeing Trip here in Xi’an :
Arriving at Big Wild Goose Pagoda (or “Dayan Ta” in Chinese) & Mercy & Kindness Temple (or “Da Ci’en” in Chinese) - located in the Southern suburb of Xi’an in Shaanxi :
One of the best preserved Ancient Buddhist Pagoda, Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Ta) was originally built with 5 stories in 652AD during the reign of Emperor Gaozong (649-683AD), then rebuilt in 704AD adding 2 stories during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian, in the Tang Dynasty…………
And Mercy & Kindness Temple (Da Ci’en) - home of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Ta) was originally built in 589AD, then rebuilt in 647AD, in memory of the late Empress Wende, by Li Zhi, who later bacame the Tang Dynasty Emperor Gaozong.

One of the main functions of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Ta) was to hold Sutras & Figurines of Buddha that were brought back to China from India by the famous Chinese Buddhist Monk Xuanzang after travelling for 17 years :

I’m now inside Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Ta) & Mercy & Kindness Temple (Da Ci’en) - led by our Xi’an Chinese Tour Guide raising his Green Flag high up for our Green Team A :
The Bells & Drums were musical instruments in Ancient China which were later used to tell time for the Officials & Common people of China :

During the Tang Dynasty (618-907AD), every successful Candidate who passed the Imperial Examinations would climb up the 64.5m high Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Ta) to inscribe Chinese Poems with their Names on this Monastary, to symbolize a soaring career in Future.
The famous Chinese Poet Bia Juyi once wrote “Here under the Ci’en Pagoda, I inscrive my Name as the Youngest among 17 Candidates” - revealing his pride & happiness when he became successful at a very young age!
