Visiting Great Pineapple Haven on our Way back to Chiang Rai from Mae Sai in Northern Thailand
Filed Under (Chiang Rai, Cuisines, North Thailand, Shopping, Travelling) by Janet on 28-08-2008
We’ve left Mae Sai after visiting Myanmar, & are on our way back to Chiang Rai now - a self-taken portrait of myself inside our Thai rented car :
Along the way, we see many pineapple stalls by the roadside & we get really tempted by them that we decide to stop at one of them to try some - the Thai pineapple vendor trying to give us some ready sliced pineapples for sampling :
Wow, we’re immediately attracted to the many beautiful pineapples on sales at the stall that we quickly get off our car!
And HEY I’ve never seen such small TINY pineapples!! They’re so so cute!!
The pretty Thai vendor has really good customer service & wastes no time in cutting one of the very fresh tiny pineapples for us to try :
And there’re big pineapples too!! The Thai vendor lets us try both the big & the tiny ones - & they’re so fresh, so sweet, so juicy & so good!! We fall in love with them straight away!!
And their textures are so smooth & they don cut our tongues like the normal pineapples we usually eat which we need to first apply salt to them to lessen their sharp biting sensation!
Wow WOW we’re really so delighted!!
The ice box which contains packets of ready sliced pineapples :
Such beautiful golden colored tiny pineapples :
We decide to buy a whole 1 kg of the tiny pineapples & some big ones & the Thai vendor starts to get busy cos Mom requests that she cuts some of them for us so that we can eat in our car & later back in our hotel in Chiang Rai City :
I start taking photos of the pineapple stall & its surrounding sceneries - Our car parked beside the stall by the roadside :
Here below is a Slideshow containing the photos I’ve taken.
And amazingly I happen to come across a Thai Song Video about Thai pineapples to go with the Slideshow heheh!! Watch the video to the end if you’re not bored after viewing my photos cos it’s a cute funny Thai Pineapple Song Video haha!!
By the way, pineapples are called “Sapa-Rot” or “Sapa-Rote” in Thai language :
The Thai vendor slicing our pineapples with Mom & Dad watching by the side :
The pineapple weighing machine on the bamboos-made floor of the stall :
This Thai vendor is really good cos she’s very skillful in cutting the pineapples & she does it so easily & swiftly!!
While waiting for our pineapples to be ready, I start snapping photos of the beautiful pineapples again!! Haha guess I really really adore them so much so much!!
Well, besides some whole uncut tiny pineapples, our several packets of ready sliced big & tiny pineapples are all prepared now, & we’re ready to set off on the roads again to Chiang Rai!
We’re now back inside our car & on the roads to Chiang Rai……..& of course we immediately start attacking our sliced pineapples once we settle in!! How can we resist not to since they’re simply so delicious!!
So juicy so juicy……
And so sweet so sweet they’re the most marvelicious pineapples I’ve ever had!!
And in no time we finish up a few packets of the pineapples - now leaving only 2 more pieces to go!!
Haha Haha!! What a great pineapple feast we’ve got today!! We’re truely overly satisfied & happy!!
