After leaving Xu Liu Shan Desserts Store in Tung Choi Street near Ladies Street, Dear & I started walking around the bustling Hong Kong Streets. WOW WOW there were tons of people window-shopping & walking in the streets this very busy Sat night!!

We’d just arrived at Portland Street, & we were pretty surprised during this visit to Hong Kong cos we saw many Indian & Philippino visitors & workers!!

Well, Dear & I were here cos as I’d told you earlier, we had a very special Dinner plan for tonight!! Heheh!!

YES, we’re here at the MPM Building in Portland Street where we would be dining at the…….GUESS WHERE!?!??!!

YES, we’d be dining in a MODERN TOILET on the 3rd floor of MPM Building!!

HEY HEY, dining inside a TOILET!??!?! You must be JOKING ha?!?!!

NOPE I’m NOT joking at all!!! We’d be dining inside A TOILET - a MODERN TOILET!!!

But well, it’s NOT exactly a TOILET, but a TOILET Restaurant heheh!!!

Well, sometime before we went on our China Trip, Dear & I happened to see on a Singapore Channel TV programme broadcasting this MODERN TOILET Restaurant in Taiwan (based on a Japanese franchise), & we really fell in love with the concept!!!

And upon checking up on the Internet, I realised that there’s a new branch recently set up in Hong Kong too!!! I was very excited & found out more about its HK address & we were determined to be here, no matter what!!

We’re now at the Entrance of MODERN TOILET - Alamak!! There was already a long queue outside!!! We immediately notify the Waitress about our 2-seaters dining.

The time then was around 7.30pm!! Thank goodness Dear & I decided to be there earlier, or else we might end up at the back of a much much longer queue, cos the crowd kept coming non-stop!!

Youngsters & Elderly, Lovers & Family, many were already lining up & waiting outside MODERN TOILET while trying to look & peep inside at the really cool TOILET-themed Restaurant, & at the same time hoping that diners would finish fast & get out of their seats quickly!!!

And being a photography lover, I couldn’t wait any longer but started snapping photos of the Restaurant from its outside while waiting for our turn to be seated.

Hmmmm, we were getting more & more excited as we looked on inside……then suddenly - “Hello Miss, it’s your turn now. Please come in.” – in Mandarin we heard from the Hong Kong Waitress as we were waiting & snapping photos outside MODERN TOILET.

Haha, Dear & I must be really lucky, we’d thought we could wait up a very long time to get to our turn inside the Restaurant!! But the truth was, we waited no less than half hour before we were called in!!

Hoorays Hoorays!! May be the Waitress knew we were Tourists & gave us special service, or may be we were just very plain lucky lucky heheh!!

Here we’re at our dining table inside the MODERN TOILET Restaurant – Haha!! The tables are made up of TOILET BASINS!! How COOL!!! HOW COOL!!!

Any taker for Business!?!? SMALL or BIG Business in the TOILET!??!?!

Haha, NOPE NOPE Please NO!! Please NO!!! YUCKS YUCKS Please NO!!!!

Extremely excited, Dear & I were so happy that we were finally sitting inside MODERN TOILET & about to be dining inside HOHO!!!

Sooner than we expected, Dear was served his MODERN TOILET Dinner Set which was one of the In-House recommendations – he was so excitedly pleased haha :

Dear’s SPARE RIBS IN WUXI STYLE were braised Pork Ribs with Sliced Mushrooms with some Bean Sprouts, garnished with sliced Red Chilies & Spring Onions, & served with Carrots, Broccoli, Baby Sweet Corns & Lettuces on the sides :

Dear’s Set also came with a big bowl of Rice topped with Black Sesame Seeds, steaming hot Soup, & Vegetable Pickles :

And some Soy Sauce & Chili Sauce for dipping :

Out of curiosity, Dear decided to bring up his SPARE RIBS IN WUXI STYLE to check out the underneath of the BLACK TOILET BOWL :

And it was actually a Hotpot with burning fire :

Here’s Dear’s MILK TEA in URINE POT (another In-House recommendation) – Somehow it also looked kinda dirty ha!!! Would you dare drink from it?!?!

Dear was a bit sceptical about it but I absolutely love the whole idea heheh!!

Then came my Dinner Set, which was also an In-House recommendation from MODERN TOILET - ASSORTED HOTPOT WITH BEEF in BLACK TOILET BOWL, with Rice : 

Lots of Seafood – Prawn, Crab Meats, Clams, Fried Tofu (Bean Curds), Sliced Beefs, Sliced Carrots & Cabbages, Golden Mushrooms, Japanese Assorted & Sushi-like Fish Cakes, with even a PINK Yellow-edged White Bear designed one – Kawaii Nei Kawaii Nei!!!

I was hoping that our 2 Dinner sets would be served in 2 different colored TOILET BOWLS, cos there were actually PINK, WHITE & BLUE colored ones too!!

Unfortunately, both ours came in BLACK – but guess being served in BLACK colored TOILET BOWLS brought out the best presentations & aromatic fragrance of our Dinner Cuisines ha heheh!!

And here’s my very special MILK TEA WITH PUDDING :

See the YELLOW colored PUDDING from inside my URINARY – heheh does it remind you of anything from inside the TOILET ha?!!!

But HEY trust me the PUDDING was really good!!!

Slippery & kinda springy, really SPECIAL & TASTY, & trying to fish it out from the URINE POT was really fun!!! And when drunk with the iced cooling MILK TEA, it was absolutely GREAT – Dear & I just loved it lots!!!

Dear & I had dreamt of coming here to MODERN TOILET & here we were really sitting & dining inside!!

Dear enjoying his SPARE RIBS IN WUXI STYLE, in smiles – the Pork Ribs were really very well braised, soft & tender & really tasty!!!

Haha me getting hungry & won-out from the many photos snapping & couldn’t wait to TUCK IN TUCk IN now!!! Let’s EAT Let’s EAT NOW!!!

Mmm…….Mmmm…….my ASSORTED HOTPOT WITH BEEF was really delicious!! The soup was rich in Seafood flavour & the ingredients all so fresh & yummy yummy!!!

Dear & I really enjoyed our most delicious Dinner Sets & here comes our MODERN TOILET Dessert – MARTON NO 6 ICE CREAM CONE with COOKIE STICK on mini BLUE colored TOILET BOWL - MARTON (meaning “TOILET BOWL” when pronounced in Chinese) :

I’d wanted the Chocolate flavoured Soft Ice Cream so that it would look more like SHIT SHIT haha!!

But the Restaurant had only the Vanilla flavour left – too bad too bad (

And almost immediately, our 2nd In-House recommended MODERN TOILET Dessert came too – MARTON NO 2 STRAWBERRY FLAVOUR.

Look at DEAR below – he was so excited & delighted upon seeing our HUGE Pile of Redish colored Dessert!! In fact, all heads & eyes from our neighbouring diners turned & looked at our MOST SPECIAL Dessert when it was served to us!! And both Dear & I just couldn’t stop laughing at 1st sight of it haha!!

Well, this filled with REDNESS Dessert was meant to resemble one’s BLOODY Business inside the TOILET, especially when one’s suffering from Haemorrhoids (Piles) – try imagining it as you see Me here removing the TOILET BOWL SEAT COVER for you heheh!!

Well, our MARTON NO 2 STRAWBERRY FLAVOUR Dessert consisted of a huge pile of Grinded Ice garnished with tons of ingredients such as mini rounded Cookies, Raisins, Preserved Strawberries, Colorful Round Cracker Balls, Diced Peaches & Aloe Veras, & white Flower-shaped Marsh Mallows, & topped with a big scoop of Strawberry Ice Cream :

In addition, there was a really crispily tasty round Cookie topped with Vanilla flavoured Soft Ice Cream tucked by its side – All in all, the whole design was superbly Cool & Unique!!!

I was most excited as I adore colorful colorful COLORS!!!

Haha, Dear was looking a little concerned cos he was already feeling very full then & he wondered how we 2 could have the stomach to finish our so HUGE Red Piled up Dessert haha!!

Me too Me too except that I was also thinking if only we’d more tummy space to fill up more food I’d loved to order more MODERN TOILET Cuisines & Desserts cos they were all so beautifully & uniquely presented hoho!!

Our MARTON NO 2 STRAWBERRY FLAVOUR Dessert was fast melting so Dear & I decided to start eating it FAST FAST!!!

Heheh it was heavenly lovely - the Strawberry & Vanilla Ice Creams plus all the Fruits & Crackers combinations were really yummily good, though we wished that the Grinded Ice was much finer!!

And very soon, we’d finished our really cooling yummy MARTON NO 6 ICE CREAM CONE :

Heheh, a World Souvenirs Lover of Me, how could I possibly miss out on any MODERN TOILET Mechanise ha?!?!

Throughout our whole evening of dining inside the MODERN TOILET, I’d been eyeing at our opposite Huge Shelves of MODERN TOILET Souvenirs that were on display (below)!!! Haha Dear & I were really lucky to be sitting directly opposite these Shelves & I’d been filled with much excitement over which Souvenirs I wanted to buy after dinner!!!

Dear & I managed to finish our MARTON NO 2 STRAWBERRY FLAVOUR Dessert - Well, not exactly completely cos the pile of Grinded Ice was simply too huge!!! And we were already too full & had to finally gave it up!!

But we were really amazed by how much we could eat since we already had our half fill of Desserts & Cuisines from Xu Liu Shan in the early evening before we came here to MODERN TOILET for our full course Sets of Dinner plus Ice Creams plus more Desserts haha!!

Haha, Dear & I had the most INNOVATIVE most WONDERFUL most INTERESTING most UNIQUE most SPECIAL GREATEST COOLEST dining experience here in Hong Kong tonight!! We enjoyed ourselves so much here at MODERN TOILET & were we so utterly glad that we made it here!!

As we were leaving the Restaurant, we saw more people queuing outside!!! Unbelievable it was 9.15pm now & the crowds were still coming non-stop!!

Well, now Dear & I had to make our way fast to our Hotel Shuttle Bus pick-up point in the City of Tsim Sha Tsui fast, cos we wanted to catch the 10pm Bus as scheduled on the following Card taken from our Hotel for tonight :

We took a cab from MODERN TOILET of MPM Building in Portland Street to the Hotel Shuttle Bus pick-up point & managed to be on time for the arrival of the 10pm Bus.

Dear & I’ve had a very long day & night starting from our most early wee morning wake-up call at about 3am in Beijing, then catching our 7.45am 4-hour flight from Beijing to Hong Kong, followed by checking into Harbour Plaza Resort City.

Then without resting, we came out again to Tsim Sha Tsui eating & walking & shopping, & eating & walking & eating, throughout the whole day & night in Hong Kong till this hour!!!

What an amazingly overwhelming 1st day & night here in Hong Kong, as Dear & I retired into our most comfortable cosy Hotel Room looking forward to another most exciting & fun tomorrow!!
