Fun Time in Frontierland - Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
Filed Under (Florida, Orlando, Shopping, Travelling, USA, World Souvenirs) by Janet on 07-02-2009
Arriving at the old-time wild west Frontierland of Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Dear & I visit the following Trail Greek Traders for some souvenir shopping - hoping to find something from the 1800s frontier America’s pioneers’ past…………….
Dear standing outside Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade :
And he immediately tests out his Riffle……………..
And starts working on his marksmanship aiming at more than 100 pop-up, moving & stationary Targets in a Jail, Hotel, Bank & Cemetery laid with Toomstones, errie Tree & Cactuses in Boot Hill :
The Rifle uses a beam of infrared light, & when it hits a Target, the sensor in the Target signals a Hit & the Target animates when the Hit is recorded…………..
But well, in actual fact, Dear’s not really shooting but only playing with his Riffle- now AIMING at Me haha!!
A beautiful pic of the Boot Hill with Red censored Targets in Darkness under a FULL Moon :
And here’s another beautiful pic of 2 young American kids playing at Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade - very cool ha!!
Dear & I now stop by the Frontier Trading Post of legendary “Texas” John Slaughter the Trail Boss (of Walt Disney Movie - Desperado From Tombstone in 1960) :
I’m now standing inside Frontier Trading Post wearing a fury Raccoon Hat :
More cutie Raccoon Hats on sales :
And then I catch sight of the below cutest Birthday Party Black Bear eyeing on his Candled Cake - & I’d wanted to buy for Dear since it’s his Birthday today, but as usual, he says “Don wan la!!” - hahah better still, save up my money heheh :
Next we see the following Coal Mine Cart filled with Colorful Minning Gemstones which cost US$6.95 a bag :
Well, this Coal Mine Cart brings back much fond memories of the times I was living in Australia as a Student visiting the Sovereign Hill - Gold Museum in Ballarat (Victoria, Australia) where I went 13 metres underground on a Tour of the Red Hill Mine, & I even personally experienced COLD Mine digging & whatever amount of GOLD we dig - we get to keep them!! But of course I wasn’t lucky enough to be a Millionaire then hahah!!!
Here’s a pic of Me GOLD Mining at Sovereign Hill - Ballarat Australia :
And below’s my GOLDEN Sovereign Hill - Gold Museum Ballarat Key Ring :
At the same time, Dear & I still remember the time we visited the Coal Mine Exhibits in Jasmison Valley at The Blue Mountains in Sydney - here’s a pic of Me then :
Well, I’ll feature my amazing Australian Tour pics one fine day okie :))
In the meantime, let’s get back here to Orlando Florida - Dear & I continue strolling in Frontierland of Magic Kingdom - Walt Disney World - sightseeing & window shopping here & there in search of something interesting to bring back home but nothing much catches our eyes…………..
By now, there’re more & more people coming into the Theme Park - families with kids, elderly with grandkids, groups of friends & lovers such as Dear & Myself heheh………….but so far we don see many Asian Chinese like ourselves at all, except may be a few Japanese & some ABC (American Born Chinese).
Below’s the Country Bear Jamboree which is a theatre-style Attraction with audio-animatronic Bears - And in the midst of the afternoon crowd & the HOT sun shining down at us in Frontierland, Dear & I forget to check it out except only capture a pic of the exterior :
Then we’re being entertained by a 3 Cowboy-Band that come marching down Frontierland, which very much amuses the surrounding crowd :
Soon we find out that there’s to be a Live Parade coming up in Frontierland - No wonder there’re suddenly so many people here!!
Here’s a pic of Chocolate Gourmets of America taken from inside one of the Frontierland Souvenir Stores - SEE the huge Mickey Choc Box on the bottom right corner - well, I’d secretly wanted to buy this for Dear’s Birthday (as an extra surprise gift!) as he loves Chocolates & Mickey & America & $$ hahah - but I can’t buy it cos I’ve nowhere to hide since my handbag’s not big enough :((
Well, Dear & I are now walking towards the end of Frontierland after watching the fantastic Live Parade which I’ll showcase to you in another separate Post :))
Here’s Splash Mountain where one gets to plunge 5 stories into Brer Rabbit’s Laughin’ Place - something which Dear & I can’t even think of riding cos it’ll make us wet & cold - so we just snap pics of the Attraction :
We now arrive at the Rivers of America bordering Frontierland & I begin taking pics of Dear against the beautiful serene views :
We next come to the Transportation Hub of Tom Sawyer Island where visitors need to take a Water Raft across the Rivers of America to reach it :
And here’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which Dear is very much keen on riding since he loves roller coaster rides but unfortunately the afternoon Queue is way too long, so again it’s a MISS :
A Frontierland Signboard against the beautiful Winter trees in the afternoon sky :
Then Dear & I stop for some shopping inside Briar Patch at Frontierland away from the Sun, & the following is a Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle Souvenir Photo Frame which I never buy cos I keep thinking it’s the exact same one that I’ve already got from Hong Kong Disneyland last May!! And so I keep telling Dear too!! And I only realise too late they’re actually NOT the same, though very much similiar………..making me feel so so sad :(((
Below’s my Hong Kong Disneyland Sleeping Beauty Castle Photo Frame with a Portrait of Dear & Me taken inside Disneyland - And come to think of it - How can I be so silly cos afterall, this is Sleeping Beauty Castle & that of the Walt Disney World’s is Cinderella Castle!!!
However, we did purchase another pretty Walt Disney World - Celebrate Everyday - Photo Frame from Briar Patch - so not too bad :))
And Dear also purchases the following Mickey wearing his Magic Sorcerer’s Hat in the Midst of Four Parks - One World - Walt Disney World T-shirt - well, to please himself & myself too as we wish that we’ve got the time to visit all the 4 Parks!! But of course we’re only wishing cos we know time can’t afford for us here as Dear needs to get back home (in Singapore) for training……………thus the great significance of this tee :
And the T-shirt is of great 100% preshrunk Cotton quality & made in El Salvador :
We also have the following Walt Disney World Souvenir Magnets with scenes of its different Theme Parks - for our family & myself of course, since I’m a World Souvenir Magnet Collector!!
And from our shopping purchases, we again receive many pretty Walt Disney World Shopping Bags :
Here’s Dear standing outside the very unique & amazingly designed & structured Briar Patch, like a Grotto in the Jungle at Frontierland :
Then we come across the Entrance to the Splash Mountain Attraction which looks kinda tempting cos there’re no long Queues but of course Dear & I can’t take it as it’s a Water Ride & we don wish to be wet at all :
So we continue walking & with Me snaping pics here & there of the beautiful Frontierland Pink Foliage signifying Spring’s here pretty soon………….
We then see Goofy Goof with his son Max Goof flicting with a young American girl, & again there’s a pretty long Queue to their Meet & Photography Session, so I just snap pics of them from afar :
By now, Dear & I have almost completed our exploration of Frontierland, or rather I’d say, we’re trying to speed up things as we’ve still got many lots more Attractions to see - so we decide to hop on the Frontierland Railroad Train to our next destination :
Dear’s seen here standing at the Entrance of the Frontierland Railroad Station :
And upon climbing up the Railroad Station, we see beautiful foliage unfolding at the top of Frontierland - & it seems more like Autumn than Winter here in Sunshine State of Orlando Florida…………….
And what good timing we’ve got cos the Train comes real soon & now Dear & I are seated onboard :
Our Train soon departs Frontierland & we catch great views of the back of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad & I pretty manage to snap some great pics :
While Dear keeps saying “WOW WOW it looks so fun out there!!” but later decides it’s too mild a Coaster Ride for him anyway haha :
The Walt Disney World Railroad Train in the Magic Kingdom actually takes visitors on a full 1.5-mile grand-circle tour of 20 mins, riding through the Woods now as per say :
And Dear & I keep exclaiming how fun & interesting our comfortable Train Ride is as we enjoy the Train’s “Choo-choo” sounds & hissing plumes of steam…………
And feeling the light cool breeze as well as taking in the lovely sights of our surroundings…………….
And then we see the Indian Village of Pocahontas Tribe…………..
It’s simply a splendid feeling & Dear & I feel so much in love together…………& we wish our Train Ride never never ends…………….
But of course we’ve to be back in reality - that we’ve got really insufficient time for more Theme Parks in Magic Kingdom so we’ve to get off at our next Train Stop………………………..
