Strolling into Toon Lagoon (our 2nd “Island” here at Islands of Adventure) from Marvel Super Hero Island, Dear & I are filled with Ooh!! WHOA!! & smiles all over our faces as we see Comic Strip characters & cartoons all over this fantasy Land………..

Very naturally my eyes start rolling everywhere & all over the whole place exploring the many fanciful, colorful, humorous, narrative Comic Strip themed Toon Lagoon as if it’s all come alive here at Orlando, Florida USA!!

So beautiful So BEAUTIFUL!! as I soon start clicking away my Camera at the fascinating & most delightful Comic Strip Toon Lagoon………..

Well, the Comic Strip of Toon Lagoon is based on the characters of famous King Features Syndicate & Jay Ward :

King Features Syndicate is one of the World’s Largest Distributors of Comics - a World’s Premier Distributer of comic strips, newspaper columns, editoral cartoons, puzzles & games to 5000 newspapers around the World.

As for Jay Ward, who was an American creator & producer of animated television cartoons, he produced animated series based on characters such as Crusader Rabbit, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right, Peabody & Sherman, Hoppity Hooper, George of the Jungle, Tom Slick & Super Chicken.

Hey there’s even a Popeye the Sailor Man Sculpture standing handsomely right in the middle of Comic Strip Toon Lagoon!!! Hahah Dear & I love watching Popeye Cartoons & often laugh over him & skinny beauty Olive Oyl - so funny funny!!

Most lovely sceneries around here as we see many about-to-bloom Winter Trees as Spring’s very fast approaching Orlando here in Florida USA!! It’s almost noon time now & my god the Sun’s so bright & scorching over our heads & skins - Weather’s really getting hotter nowadays!!

Luckily we’ll be leaving for home (Singapore) tomorrow - Dear & I thank god that the weather for the last week we were here were cold & very cooling cos we prefer cold weather, since Singapore’s always hot hot summer throughout!!

However we know that the Americans love the HOT HOT sun (the hotter the better!!) as they walk & sit & dine & chat for long hours under the bright sunny hot weather!!!

Well, other than its many amazing Comic Strip characters, another main highlight of Toon Lagoon here at Islands of Adventure is its Water-based Rides - as seen in the following Toon Lagoon Visitor Guide :

Here’s Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges - a Whitewater Rafting based on Popeye Cartoons :

Well, as Dear & I are avoiding getting wet cos of no supply of change in clothes, we’ve to miss out on all Water Rides - thus we can only watch the Rides as we see Riders getting soaked!!

Hahah some get real wet & totally soaked (depending on where they sit & which way the Raft turns!!) when large amounts of free flowing water are dumped onto the Raft!! So funny as we hear them scream as they get all soaked to their skins……..

Then they appear out of the Rides with water dripping from all over their bodies & clothings as if they’ve just come out from swimming in the sea/pool……….& they start drying their clothes & shoes on the floor or benches under the hot sun, while others simply move on with their dripping water & wet clothings……….& I can tell you they all love it love it heheh!!

Hahah still remember the very first time I had my own hands on real Whitewater Rafting (with Raging Thunder Adventures) on the mighty Tully River in Cairns in Far North Queensland (Cairns - Australia), during my Summer Vacation from Uni back in 1997 - 1998 :

The mighty Tully River is regarded as the Best Rafting River across Australia & New Zealand & I’d so much so much fun!!

NEVER so daring before in my entire life hahaha cos if you know, I don know how to swim at all - yet I did this Whitewater Rafting (& before this - Diving in Great Barrier Reef too haha!!)!!

After our rafting, my friends all jumped into the River playing & swimming except Me cos I was afraid to drown!!

Just then, our Raging Thunder Adventures Guide (man with White helmet) had me thrown into the mighty Tully River when he pushed me out of our Raft!!

AHAHAH!! Me screaming as I fell into the River - but HEY it was all so great & I had our Guide to thank for cos the River was so so cooling & so lovely - I had the best time in the world out there playing with the waters………& I had no fear at all!! It was all so awesome!! And HEY I never drown in Tully River at all of course!! cos I was wearing my Life Jacket!!

Well, Dear & I also had a very wonderful great time doing Whitewater Rafting in Everland - the Largest Theme Park in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do Province, during our Vacation in Autumn South Korea back in 2004 :

Well enough of my past Whitewater - Travelling stories - now let’s get back here to Comic Strip Toon Lagoon at Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida USA!!

Here we see more lovely blooming Winter Trees as Dear & I arrive at Wimpy’s Burgers - too bad it’s closed or else Dear & I would love to try its famous Burgers :

Haha guess we could only satisfy ourselves with the Wimpy’s Burgers that Popeye’s friend Wimpy already laid out on his front porch heheh :

We next see Me Ship, The Olive - an Ocean of Fun for kids while exploring Popeye’s Ship with 3 levels of interactive play - & children can even squirt Water Cannons at guests passing by the adjacent Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges - Hahah kids are really very lucky to be living here in America!!

And well, while viewing Me Ship, The Olive from afar - I begin to feel pinches & pain in both my tired feets as I’m wearing Boots (hahah cos I’m so vain!!)……..& cos Dear & I have been walking a long time since arriving this early morning at Universal Studios Florida………

Then Walking to Marvel Super Hero Island & to Jurassic Park (cos we wana beat the Ride’s crowds!!) via Toon Lagoon, then back to Toon Lagoon again (cos we haven’t explored the area!!)………..& later back again to Jurassic Park (cos we realise there’s no other way out except back to Marvel Super Hero Island or Jurassic Park to go to our next “Island”!!)!!

Hahaha very hilarious right!?!? - all again due to bad planning & unfamiliarity with Islands of Adventure’s layout!!)!! That’s why you MUST remember - study & do your homework well & PLAN PLAN well way beforehand before coming to Orlando, Florida USA - TRUST Me!!!

All in all, the long hours of walking has worn out my 2 tiny legs & feets (or rather fat ones hahahah!!), & so I decide to go BAREFOOTED without my Boots!! 

YEA YEA!! like I sometimes did during hot summer in Geelong & Melbourne, Victoria - Australia when I was a student or travelling with Dear!!

And hey unlike in Singapore, nobody cares & nobody stares!!!

Besides, many Americans around here at Comic Strip Toon Lagoon walk with no shoes on (since they’re all wet from their Water Rides!!) - Moreover it’s so bright & sunny & hot just like Summer out here in Orlando, Florida USA!!

So, Me having no Boots on & walking barefooted is nothing but a so-common sight seen around here!!

Heheh I’m so happy happy now as I feel much better & more relaxed now that my legs feel so free & light as Dear & I continue strolling & relaxing in Comic Strip Toon Lagoon here at Islands of Adventure………..

Dear & I stop by Casoline Alley for some shopping but find nothing suitable to buy………

Then we see Popeye Souvenir Jumpers & T-shirts & I wana get Dear one tee but he refuses saying it’s a little too childish for him!! Hahah yet I thought he’s one BIG Child/Baby (in my eyes!!) heheh!! 

Dear’s now standing above Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls :

Dear & I excitedly watch guests hop in a Log & hang on as Dudley Do-Right take them on a wild & wet Log Flume Ride with one of the steepest Water Drop ever created!!

The final Drop plunges 15ft below the water line & Hahah!! the guests get all completely SOAKED up!! This’s definitely one CRAZY wet Water Ride here at Comic Strip Toon Lagoon hahaha!!!

Hehehe & these look like EGGS sitting on Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls - so cute so cute!!

Despite the hot sun & my exhausting legs & feets (now better without my Boots!!), Dear & I still have tons of a fun-loaded & relaxing time here in Comic Strip Toon Lagoon!! 

Kids or Adults do come visit this place as I’m sure you’re love it as much as Dear & I do!! And remember, come with a pair of GOOD walking Shoes!!

And do bring extra clothings for change just in case you decide to get all WET & soaked up in the furious fun Water rides!! WATCH OUT & Stay real real cool!!
