HAPPY Belated Birthday to Baby Cutie on her 2nd Birthday which was actually yesterday on 14 February, 2009 - Valentine’s Day!
Here’s our Birthday Baby Cutie with her 2 Big Kor Kors Sportie & Smartie infront of her American Carrot Birthday Cake which Ma Ma & Pa Pa promised to get her (from Walmart 2 nights ago!) here in Orlando, Florida USA……….
But cos Ma Ma & Pa Pa were too tired & sleepy (Ma Ma’s still very tired & sleepy now hahah!!) to stay up any longer last night to celebrate Cutie’s Birthday, here they’re this early dawn at 3.45am!!
Let’s hear Pa P with Cutie singing (her own!) Birthday Song (in English & Mandarin!):
Cutie’s cutting her Birthday Cake now - such a cutie American Carrot Cake (topped with a cutie Carrot!!) just like her heheh!!
Haha now that we’ve celebrated Cutie’s Birthday, Dear & I are busy packing in the last minute again before we leave for Orlando International Airport for our Flight back home to Singapore………….Well, not quite yet cos we’ve to first fly to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County International Airport in Michigan!!
Well, today’s finally our last day here in Orlando, Florida USA!! Not that we like leaving here at all cos we already miss Orlando NOW (in fact I’ve told Dear many times that I wana stay here for good cos I love this place so much!!) - but rather there’s always AN END to everything :(((
And you know, Dear & I have actually stocked up so much food here at Quality Inn International think we’re just CRAZY ahahahahah!!
There’re our brought from home Instant Cup Noodles & our Chinese New Year Pineapple Tarts, Dried Shrimp & Chili Rolls (NEVER touch these at all!!), Dear’s Mickey Mouse-head shaped Crisped Rice Birthday Cake from Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom (which we only ate its left ear!!), & a few Banana & Wild Blueberry Muffins!!
As well as last night’s unfinished Meat Pizza & Beef Taco Salad from Mcdonald’s, Dear’s SolidWorks World 2009 Conference Chocolate Cookie, Cutie’s unfinished Birthday Cake (which we all shared only a small slice!!), & our favourite American Coke!!
And not forgetting that we’ve still got our almost 3/4 Tub of Preyer’s Overloaded Brownie Mud Pie Ice Cream left in the Room’s Fridge which Dear & I totally forgot to eat last night!! Silly Us!!!
YEA yea, Dear & I are definitely crazy to have so much leftovers!! What a waste wish we’ve the chance & appetite to eat them all during those days we’re here in Orlando!!
And now, cos our travelling luggages are all filled up & so full, I thought why not leave behind for the Hotel’s chambermaids for helping to clean up our Room so neat & comfortably for Dear, our Babies & Me!!
So I quickly scribble a Note & tag it on our food :
Dear & I are picked up by our Mears Airport Shuttle promptly at 4.30am at our Hotel Lobby.
Hereby, let me show you my Slideshow containing pics of Quality Inn International taken during our most wonderful great stay here :
Upon arrival at about 5am at Orlando International Airport located 10km Southeast of the Central Business District of Orlando, Dear & I have our Luggages & ourselves checked in.
Then we take an Airport Shuttle (Train) to our Flight Departure Lounge Area where we’re now waiting for our Northwest Airlines Flight (NW 433) which leaves at 8.10am - Wow that’s a pretty long wait!!
We’re now looking at the Departure Flights Information Screen inside Orlando International Airport, which is the largest & busiest Airport in the State of Florida :

Dear & I are now seated onboard NW 433 - GOODBYE Orlando, We’ll Miss You So MUCH!!
Though only here for 10 days, Dear & I, especially, have fallen in love with this most beautiful Sunshine State as I got to explore around Orlando being alone for 4 full days without Dear while he was away in his Conference………..
To really see, feel, touch, live & experience Orlando’s sights & culture & way & style of living with its people………And I’m really thankful for this most golden precious opportunity - Thank you Orlando for allowing me to do just all that!!
We’ll Miss You so much Orlando!! I love you & I’m gonna miss you like CRAZY!! You’re a BLAST!!
Dear & I are now enjoying American Pepsi & Sierra Mist (which tastes like 7 Up & even better!!) - love it!!
And I’m now munching on POORE BROTHERS Kettle Cooked Original Potato Chips :
Hmm……..it’s my first time trying this American brand (as recommended by my buddy!) - & it’s exactly like my favourite KETTLE Brand Potato Chips (still remember I used to often buy for Mom back home in Singapore!!) - except that I prefer the KETTLE Brand Slightly Salted flavour which is less salty than the Poore Brothers one!
Dear & I sleep throughout our Flight from Orlando International Airport - seems that my recent busy Chinese New Year activities (plus the prior house spring cleaning & weeks of preparations!!) before our Orlando Trip, plus the Trip itself, have all taken a heavy toll on Me that by now, I’m completely worn out & so exhausted ahahah!!
About 3 hours has passed now at slightly past 11am as our NW 433 Flight arrives over the sky of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) here in lovely Winter snowy Michigan, USA :
Here’s a Video clip of us landing on Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (located in Romulus which is a suburb of Detroit - the largest hub for Northwest Airlines) - the busiest Airport in Michigan - a Midwestern State in USA :
Detroit is the largest City in the US State of Michigan, kown as the World’s traditional Automotive Center, & now Dear & I are here for a short Transit of less than 2 hours before our next connecting Flight back to Japan in Asia!!
And of course it’s shopping time once we get inside the Airport’s Edward H. McNamara Terminal Concourse A - the World’s 2nd longest Airport Terminal Building at one mile!
Here’s my mini Metallic Detroit with Movable Red Car Souvenir Magnet from above www.news.detroit Souvenir Store :
And see what treasure I just found!?!? It’s a Northwest Airlines (NWA) Aeroplane with Jet Sound Key Ring - fanciful & most adorable!!
Dear & I are now taking the EXPRESS TRAM from South Station (inside Concourse A) to our connecting Gate of Departure in the Main Station located in the center of Concourse A :
Inside the EXPRESS TRAM :
It’s hunting for more Detroit Souvenirs again once we get off the EXPRESS TRAM - here shopping inside KidZoo, CNBC News Detroit, & DTW Travalmart :
Here’s a charming colored Rich in Heritage DET Detroit Michigan Souvenir T-Shirt for Dear :
Ahaha here’s the same designed but different colored Detroit tee again - also for Dear, as I like both colors!!
And for our Babies back home in Singapore, I’ve got this lovely Michigan Casino Gift Bag filled with Salt Water Taffy for them :
Here’re the many beautiful & colorful yummy yummy chewy Salt Water Taffy - they’re really very tasty TRUST Me!!

Well, the following pics show my 4 Made-in-USA Souvenir Magnets - hahah these are my only 4 American made Souvenir Magnets in my entire Minnesota-Orlando-Florida-Detroit Travelling Trip’s Souvenir Magnets Collection!
Spirit of Detroit Michigan & Michigan The Great Lake State Souvenir Magnets :
The Spirit of Detroit is a City Monument with a Large 26 foot (7.9m) Bronze Statue, holding in its left hand a Gilt Bronze Sphere emanating Rays symbolizing God. And in its right hand it holds a Family Group symbolizing All Human Relationships.
This Statue bears an Inscription - “Now the Lord is that Spirit : & where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty”, including the Seals of the City & Wayne County, together with a Plaque bearing another Inscription that reads “Through the Spirit of Man is manifested in the Family, the Noblest Human Relationship”. Pretty cool huh!!
As for why Michigan is called The Great Lake State - Well, Michigan has 3,177 miles of Great Lakes (a chain of Freshwater Lakes!) Shoreline, & the word Michigan means “Creat Water” derived from the Ojibwa Indian word “Mishigami” - thus the name ”Michigan The Great Lake State”!
Here’re my Detroit Skylines Souvenir Magnets - also Made in USA :
Detroit’s first Skyscraper was a 10-storey building (Hammond Building) completed in 1889, & the City went through a massic Building boom in the 1920s, 1970s & 1980s. And today, Detroit is the site of 7 Skyscrapers at least 500ft (152m) in height - ranked 3rd in the Midwestern United States (after Chicago & Minneapolis), & 17th in the whole USA!
The current Tallest building in Detroit (& the 86th Tallest building in USA!) is the 70-storey Detroit Marriott at Renaissance Center (at 727ft or 222m) along Detroit’s International Riverfront, as featured in my above Detroit Skylines Souvenir Magnets!
Now, I’m most happy that I’ve managed to get some Detroit Souvenirs, especially adding onto my World Souvenir Magnets Collection, & having this great chance to visit yet another great American State with Dear, during this short Transit here in Michigan………..
Our connecting Flight Northwest Airlines Flight (NW 11) has just taken off at 12.30pm out of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport to Japan in Asia as I snap the following beautiful Snowy shots of Detroit-Michigan - GOODBYE America - We’ll miss you!!
I shall see you all back in AISA!! In the meantime, please enjoy my following Slideshow containing all pics taken as of this morning till now :
